How to prepare for the treatment?

You will be required to undergo certain tests for detailed assessment and evaluation

Procedure involved

The surgical procedure is carried out under the influence of anaesthesia.

The bone graft will be placed between two spines and fixed with the help of metal plates, screws and rods.

The child needs to undergo a revision surgery every 6 to 12 months, so as to increase the length of the rod. Once your spine is close enough to the natural alignment, spinal fusion will be performed. The procedure is usually recommended for patients who are too young to undergo spinal fusion.
