ABOUT DOCTOR

Dr. Shahid Mahdi is a senior Cardiac Critical care consultant with vast experience in managing cardiac patients. He has special interest in Non-invasive positive pressure ventilation in patients of respiratory failure and acute cardiogenic pulmonary oedema; cardiopulmonary interactions during mechanical ventilation (ventilating post MI cases); management of cardiogenic shock; Beside LV assist devices placement and care.

Dr. Shahid Mahdi did his MBBS from M. L. N. Med. College Allahabad in 1994. He not only stood first among order of merit in M.B.B.S final examinations for which he got a Gold Medal but achieved Paper of Honors in five subjects during undergraduate studies. He later earned DNB Respiratory Diseases from LRS Institute New Delhi in 2002 and went to Singapore for a Fellowship in Respiratory and Critical Care (FRCCM) from Singapore General Hospital, Singapore and specialized in Cardiac Critical Care.

He is a keen teacher and takes regular classes of DNB and PGD students. He is faculty for George Washington University USA and is guide to post graduate student of George Washington University Masters Programme in Emergency Medicine. He is a frequently invited faculty in various national conferences and has delivered many lecture and chaired Sessions at Sepsis Update organized by Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine, APCC 09, Sepsis Congress organized by APCC in 2011 and at Indian College of Cardiology in 2012 to name a few.
